Metallic gaskets :
flat, camprofile or O ring
In static sealing, we find different metallic gaskets with various shapes. These gaskets are used in industry to resist heavy constraints of pressure and temperature.
Standards :
Except for specific orders, the metallic gaskets are produced according to NF EN 1514-4 and NF EN 12560-4 standards (former NF E 29-900-6). We manufacture 3 different types of metallic gaskets :
- Flat metallic gaskets :
Flat metallic gaskets are generally washer shape. We can anneal or plate these gaskets if necessary.
They are generally circular with or without bar(s) but they can also be : Rectangular, elliptical, oblong…
They can also have additional holes for passing bolts.
On request, a graphite or PTFE layer can be applied on both sides of gaskets to improve sealability.
- Camprofile gaskets:
Camprofile gaskets are composed of stripes on both faces. They require lower stress but a better surface condition of flanges than flat metallic gaskets. On request, we can anneal or plate these gaskets .
They are generally circular with or without bar(s) but they can also be : B27A, Rectangular, elliptical, oblong…
It’s possible to add an outer ring on the gasket to correctly center the gaskets on the flange.
On request, a graphite or PTFE layer can be applied on both sides of gaskets to improve sealability.
- O ring gaskets :
O ring gaskets have a round shape. We identify them with O diameter and the inner diameter. They require lower stress than flat metallic gaskets.
They are always circular.
By different production processes, we can manufacture O ring gaskets with a thickness of more than 10mm.
We work with many materials according to the requirements of different sectors : Sea equipment, agrifood, healthcare, industry… We have the majority party of the materials below in sotck in several thicknesses :
Aluminum, copper, soft steel, pur iron (ARMCO), stainless steel (304L to 904L), brass, nickel copper, monel, incoloy, nickel…
Conditions of use :
Since 1930, Joints Fournel et Garnier has gained a solid experience in static sealing. With the information of the bolts (number, size, class) and operating limits (temperature, pressure, fluid), we can determine the best type of gasket for your application and give you the necessary tightening torque to seal your system.
We have a technical sheet which presents general use, the operating limits and the materials used. Please do not hesitate to contact our sales department to have more information.
